Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session, without having to switch between devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
You could, for instance, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only issue it has is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that are required including emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean around the objects without stumbling.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and dust. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or separately. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
cheap robot vacuum cleaner is intuitive and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available and comes with numerous extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature on its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a great way of keeping your home clean for longer.
There's a wealth of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you make these settings or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options to customize the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list however it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
